Món Sant Benet’s spaces
SANT BENET VEGETABLE GARDENS
with a social vocation
The Sant Benet vegetable gardens are a sample of our agriculture. They bring us closer to the origins of the foods we eat and allow us to discover the vegetables that our land and our climate provide us with. They are also vegetable gardens with a social vocation, as they create employment for young people at risk of exclusion.
Productive Vegetable Garden
The Sant Benet vegetable gardens came into operation 6 months after the rest of the facilities. They came about with the aim of prioritising quality over quantity, teaching agri-food diversity and revaluing some local agricultural varieties by studying their commercial viability.
They have two spaces: the Hort d’Aprendre (Learning Vegetable Garden), located next to the monastery of Sant Benet de Bages, and with an area of 4,100 square metres; and the Horts Productius (Productive Vegetable Gardens), located in the 6-hectare meander that forms the river Llobregat known as l’Angle.
