The Casas Carbó family
Both the Casas and La Carbó families came from the Garraf region and found fortune in America, in Cuba in particular, where they worked in business and commercial management. Finally, after making their money, they returned to Catalonia where they invested their fortunes in the new activities that were being developed in the region, textiles in particular.
As was customary at the time, a planned marriage was agreed between the two families, so Ramon Casas Gatell married Elisa Carbó Ferrer in 1859 and they settled in Barcelona, where they had three children, Montserrat, Elisa and Ramon.

the owner's house
When Elisa Carbó was the only shareholder in the factory, she came to spend the summers in this house with her children. Therefore, the Monastery and its surroundings were well-known to her family. When Elisa Carbó got the chance in 1907, she acquired the Monastery and the rest of the property at auction and began renovating it to transform the monastery into a summer house where they would spend long periods of time.
Currently, its rooms house conference rooms and offices.
